One of the Two ‘More
Than Just One’ Relationships Forms
Intimate Best Friends define
themselves as ‘independents’ in relationships
(verses say a part of a ‘Couple’). They seek
to develop long term stable relationships with
other independents that also believe the Romantic Ideal
mandate of ‘Only Just One Partner’
in a lifetime – is a prescription for relationship
failures – not relationship salvation. Many have
already experienced relationship terminations.
Two or more Intimate Best Friends
(and children if any) may live under one roof –
sharing expenses and chores or not. Or they may live under
several different roofs. Those type decisions are made
individually and collectively – on an equalitarian
basis.
Three basic themes are held by most who
live in an Intimate Best Friends Love Organization:
(1) that individuals have an innate
capacity to love more then just one person (e.g., have
a genuine care and concern for a partner’s long
term happiness and contentment)
(2) that people should spend parts of their lives with
others because they ‘want to’ (it’s
enjoyable) – not because they ‘have to’
(3) that children’s futures are best served by more
concerned adults then the current two – one –
or no concerned adults
